About Us

We are the largest independent dictation equipment dealer in Southern California, and have been recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of the top 100 woman owned businesses.

All Makes Office Machine Co., Inc. was established in 1945 in Los Angeles, in Southern California as a professional office equipment company.  As the office equipment industry evolved, so did All Makes.  We began specializing in Dictaphone type cassette dictation equipment, beginning with reel-to-reel tapes, expanding to the standard cassette, micro cassette and mini cassette units as they became available; we are now in the “digital dictation age”.  Although we still offer refurbished cassette equipment, we now specialize in digital dictation, not only in sales but also involving installation, training, service and support – we can assist our customers in ways that Internet-only companies cannot.  As various models are introduced, we thoroughly evaluate their suitability for our professional customers – there really are important differences between inexpensive consumer models and professional, full-featured models.  We carry a variety of digital recorders, digital transcribers, as well as the software support necessary to provide our customers with the best products for their particular requirements.  Our customers include attorneys, law enforcement agencies, courtroom staff, insurance companies, physicians and the medical industry (we specialize in radiology), sales organizations and any other business that can benefit from improved communication devices.  We also handle speech recognition, enterprise systems (Philips, WinScribe and Digital Accessories (Voice Solutions)), telephone-based dictation and conference recording.  We also have many products for specialized recordings such as Courtroom recording, medical dictation, medical transcription, telephone based dictation, an Insurance Agency recorder, Law Enforcement recording and Law firms. Our digital dictation systems have dictation software that works right out of the box. We can also provide custom dictation software for your digital dictation equipment. Our products include the Olympus DS7000 portables, Olympus AS7000 transcription software and accessories, Philips DPM8000 portables, Philips 7277 transcription kits and the Grundig professional line.  We also carry accessories such as cassettes, telephone adapters, cassette erasers, headsets, foot controls, microphones (including wireless speech mics) and most other relevant products.  We also service what we sell – no more repairs that take weeks to accomplish.  Our usual turnaround time is 24 hours, and annual service contracts that provide easy, convenient and cost effective repairs are also available.  Our staff enjoys working with a variety of accounts and offers the best customer support available.  Our employee experience totals over 208 years of dictation wisdom. Over the last 30 years, we have expanded to enable us to meet the needs of our clients on-site throughout Southern California. We have also advanced into the Office Automation and Information Processing industries, beginning with dedicated word processors and expanding with the development of the various generations of computers up to and including local area networks, remote digital dictation systems, facsimile machines (fax), paper shredders, voice conferencing and teleconferencing equipment. We are an authorized warranty station for such brands as Epson, Sanyo, Mitsubishi, Sony, Okidata, etc.
